Earlier yesterday, founder and co-chief executive officer Steve Ells apologised to patrons who became sick after eating at Chipotle restaurants.

Meanwhile, more than 120 Boston College students now have norovirus thanks to a Chipotle joint, health officials said.
The outbreak of norovirus at a Chipotle about half a mile from campus has sickened 141 Boston College students, according to Jack Dunn, a spokesperson for the school. Chipotle closed the restaurant voluntarily and says the company is committed to becoming an industry leader for food safety.
Ells said “when we reopen, the restaurant will be completely sanitized, and every single employee will have been tested and assured that they do not have the norovirus”.
Congruent with its slogan, “Food with Integrity”, the Mexican restaurant chain Chipotle has made an honest disclosure of an E coli outbreak linked to the company’s menu items.
Ellis said the Brighton restaurant has taken the proper steps to assure safety.
Now Chipotle faces the challenge of demonstrating to the world whether its new model for fast food can include food safety as a priority as the company moves beyond the 2,000-unit mark.
They say Boston College has reported that some of the students’ roommates have also contracted the highly contagious illness, which is typically spread by contaminated food, improper hygiene, and contact with contaminated surfaces.
“They’re basically absent on social media, which is a huge mistake”, she said. He vowed that extensive new food safety policies are in place, which will help evade outbreaks of such diseases in the future, ensuring customer’s safety first.
“It’s a really tough time…I have to say I’m sorry for the people that got sick”. The most recent E. coli case happened November 13.
Shares of Chipotle climbed $27.42 to close Thursday at $572.43.
“At this time, we do not know of any illnesses connected with this restaurant”, the statement said.
An investigation by the FDA was unable to determine a source of the E. coli outbreak.
For America’s farmers and ranchers, however, the response is poetic justice after years of attacks from Chipotle.

Speaking on NBC’s “Today” show on Thursday, the embattled CEO called the problem “a very unfortunate incident” and vowed to put procedures in place to regain consumers’ trust. “And a lot of people in that space, in that agricultural movement, tend to believe that because they do those things their food is automatically safer than food that’s served at McDonald’s or Jack in the Box or Walmart”. “Then two hours after that, I got a text from my roommate saying, ‘Vernon did you see the email?’ After so many people got sick after eating here, I’m not sure if I’m going to come back”.
