Chipotle reopens with promise of free burritos
While the federal investigation into the E.coli outbreak was officially closed last week by the CDC, the fast-food chain is still under a criminal investigation for a norovirus incident at a California restaurant in August.

As Chipotle attempts to dust off the catastrophic effects of multiple food safety scandals, the burrito chain is offering everyone free burritos, no strings attached. In order to keep their customers satisfied, Chipotle has offered a deal too good to refuse: free burritos!
The company live streamed a portion of the meeting on Periscope.
“I guess I’m not the only one who didn’t know about it (the closing)”, customer Edwin Hernandez said after he went to a Denver Chipotle for lunch. The meeting is slated to run from 11 a.m.to 3 p.m., and CEO Steve Ells will field questions from employees.
It also noted procedures for when workers get sick on site. “The second thing I said was, ‘This is going to be a problem, ‘” said Levine. “I mean I understand they need to take safety precautions, but I love Chipotle”.
A Salmonella outbreak in Minnesota and Wisconsin that sicked 60 people is said to have been traced back to diced tomatoes.
The company rolled out new programs during the meeting, including a bonus initiative that incentivizes store managers to uphold food safety standards. It includes paid sick leave to make sure employees will stay home when they’re sick, DNA-based testing of ingredients before they’re shipped to restaurants and some changes in food preparation protocols.
The company set up a web page with instructions onhow to get a free Chipotle burrito.

While Chipotle might never be able to find out what actually caused the massive E. coli outbreak that affected its stores previous year, the company was able to determine something very significant. Chipotle’s competitors are taking the opportunity to increase advertising saturation.
