Crisp mentioned he just wanted to reach base on one occasion and do something to help the team in his 2016 Indians debut.

The reliever walked the first two batters of the inning and threw a wild pitch that put each into scoring position. The Indians tacked on a run in the second and two more in the fifth, sending the Marlins to their sixth loss in seven games.

Opposing Salazar will be veteran RHP Tom Koehler (9-10, 4.02), a 30-year old veteran that has allowed at least one home run in each of his last four appearances. Christian Yelich gave the Marlins a 2-0 lead when he nailed his first pitch into the center gap, scoring Ichiro and Martin Prado.

Miami manager Don Mattingly was impressed with Carrasco’s performance.

Marlins: RHP Tim Koehler will start the series finale Sunday.

However, the Tribe hammered Fernandez all over the field as he yielded 7 runs (6 ER) on 12 hits (the most he’s given up all season) in 5.2 innings.

“It’s totally worth it for the win, especially with how we won it”, he said.

Ichiro’s ninth-inning double off Andrew Miller broke a tie at 3. Miami has lost eight of nine. Facing Marlins closer Fernando Rodney, Brandon Guyer and Carlos Santana opened the inning with walks. However, it was also a wild pitch, which allowed the runners to move to second and third.Indians manager Terry Francona was ejected from the game for arguing the checked swing on Kipnis. “We came into this road trip in a good spot still and we got to try to get past this and do whatever it takes at this point”. “In the dugout we’re never down”.

So far in 2016, Koehler, over 150 innings pitched, has an ERA of 4.02 and a FIP of 4.22.

Cleveland took advantage of Cashner’s inability to find the strike zone as he walked three in the first, including Mike Napoli with the bases loaded. That’s a huge thing to have.

Shaw allowed a run for the first time since July 18, ending a streak of 18 straight scoreless appearances, while Miller surrendered more than a run in an appearance for the first time this season.

Danny Salazar matched a career high with 11 strikeouts and allowed one run in 5 2/3 innings.

That brought up Lonnie Chisenhall, who fouled off several pitches and then yanked a ball to right field that Suzuki couldn’t track down, winning it and sending the entire Indians’ bench out toward second base to mob him. Right-hander Josh Tomlin, who has been removed from the rotation, could also be used early in the game.

Marlins: CF Marcell Ozuna (sprained left wrist) sat out his second straight game after getting hurt Wednesday while making a diving catch against the Mets.

Indians: C Yan Gomes (separated right shoulder) has begun throwing to bases.

KERSHAW TO RETURN: Dodgers ace left-hander Clayton Kershaw is scheduled to pitch Friday at Miami after spending more than two months on the disabled list with a herniated disc. Manager Dave Roberts said the three-time Cy Young Award victor won’t have a specific pitch count, but the team will be looking at the big picture with the playoffs coming up next month. Salazar went 5.2 inning while giving up six hits, but he struck out 11 and over the past two starts, he has looked much better than what he had looked like for most of the second half. His last six outings have been as a reliever.
