This coming Saturday is a very hard, very difficult fight.

They will fight on the same night of boxing action once again this Saturday September 10th and Gonzalez will move up in weight, in the hope of becoming the first four division champion from Nicaragua. Roman sees himself as a challenger in this bout, even though he still maintains the (WBC flyweight title).

Carlos Cuadras flexes his muscles during the weighin.

“It’s very important to me to gain the fourth divisional title”.

“Roman is at his best and he’s stronger than any previous fight you’ve ever seen him in from training in Big Bear”.

Gonzalez said by continuing to flawless the lessons gained under his master, he’s confident that his training is superior to any foe’s. I also asked “Chocolatito” what a victory would mean for him and his country, Gonzalez stated “it’s a truly an honor to fight for a fourth world title, I’m blessed with this opportunity and it’s my motivation”. “I dedicate this fight to my mentor Alexis Arguello”.

Additional dignitaries in attendance were Mexican Boxing Legend and three-time WBC World Champion, Israel “El Magnifico” Vazquez, WBC Director of Operations Pepe Sulaiman and undefeated local undercard fighters, Seniesa “Superbad” Estrada and Carlos “Mexicanito” Licona.

“Can’t wait to watch the main event, looking forward to seeing Chocolatito fight, he’s a very special talent”. “I will be a prince before I am a princess”, Cuadras said laughing. In fact, I admire him. “He has great skills and that is why he is a champion, I’m sure he is in the best condition of his career”. Cuadras will without a doubt be the toughest challenge to date for Gonzalez.

The 28-year-old Cuadras (35-0-1, 28 KOs) has drawn comparison to lighthearted countryman Jorge Arce with his demeanor in the face of a coldhearted opponent. “Yes, Cuadras talks a lot, but I don’t take it personally”, said Gonzalez. Fans can expect punches in bunches and two true Latino warriors giving their all in the ring next Saturday in Inglewood at the Forum.

“Roman has proven with each fight why he is considered to be the number one pound-for-pound fighter in the world”. What’s more is the fact that Cuadras is expected to easily match, if not surpass, Gonzalez’s work-rate.

This Friday, both fighters will hit the scales at the Official Public Weigh-In, outdoors at 12:00 p.m.at The Fabulous Forum.

Opening up the telecast is scheduled 10-round super welterweight fight between Jesus Soto Karass and Yoshihiro Kamegai in a rematch of their “Fight of the Year” candidate from earlier this year.

Their first meeting, ended in a split draw and left the crowd in a frenzy at the Belasco Theater in Downtown Los Angeles.

“I’m very happy that I’m able to have a rematch with such a great fighter, Jesus Soto Karass and to fight in this great arena and I would like to leave here on Saturday with a memorable, exciting fight”. He is a warrior.

“Yes, I believe the Mexican fans will come and see me, I’m one of their own”.

“I’m excited”, Cuadras said.
