Imagine listening to Rick Astley’s “Never Gonna Give You Up” for four days straight.

For the uninitiated, this is the process by which people send you a link to Rick Astley’s 1980s hit Never Gonna Give You Up, which you unwittingly click on. The event is being live streamed on YouTube all weekend.
Mr White said: ‘Comments that flooded the live stream were a few of the most hard, offensive and rude things I have ever had to read.
Jack White, 23, will hear the song, which famously became the focus of an internet prank, 2,500 times on repeat.
During his tortuous ordeal Jack won’t be allowed to speak, wash, and will live off porridge, water and rice.
The other contenders were “Let It Go” from the film Frozen and viral tune “Trololo” by Eduard Khil.
Mr White had gained the support of Astley himself, who wrote on Facebook: “This is the definition of insane!!” Good luck, you fearless, courageous man.
To raise money for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, of course.
Jack wrote on his JustGiving page: ‘I’m going to be taking part in a sponsored silence, with a difference.
23-year-old White, from the English city of Southampton, is now held up in a hotel room with no books, electronics, TV or “luxury food”, while Astley’s classic hit is played over, and over, and over again.
‘For somebody with anxiety, OCD and claustrophobia this is a huge challenge for me and something that I’m really going to struggle with’.
“I’m not really much of a Rick Astley fan and I definitely won’t be after Monday”, White said in an interview with the BBC.

By Saturday morning, Mr White had already raised £2,040 following 150 pledges.
