Immigration bureau spokeswoman Elaine Tan said Brown obtained the necessary documents at its extension office instead of the main office in downtown Manila in a bid to keep a low profile.

Chris Brown finally left the Philippines late Friday, but not without complications.

He was in the country on Tuesday for a concert in Manila but was not allowed to fly out due to a fraud complaint filed by a company being run by a powerful religious group, according to NBC News.

He said he returned to Manila to make up for the canceled New Year’s Eve concert.

He has a scheduled concert in Macau on Friday night. I love y’all, man. If you can come to Macau, party tonight!

Civil aviation authority spokesman Eric Apolonio said the plane left around 9:30 p.m. local time Friday en route to Hong Kong.

Maligaya Development Corp complained that Brown and his promoter John Michael Pio Roda canceled the concert even after they received the full payment of $1 million for the show.

The deportation proceedings are separate from the criminal complaint filed at the justice department, which will determine whether charges will be filed in court, she said.

The bureau decided to give the star clearance to leave after “verifying that Chris Brown has no other derogatory record apart from the (immigration lookout bulletin)”.

Justice department officials did not return calls seeking comment on the status of the criminal complaint against Brown.

Brown’s ordeal nearly cost him his world tour, which includes stops in Israel, Cyprus and the Netherlands.
