Chris Christie Expected to Suspend Presidential Campaign

The question is, where will their supporters go? The governor also appears to have knocked Rubio from the slot of establishment favorite, after his withering criticism of the senator during Saturday night’s Republican debate.

But analysts have differing views.

Bush has neither path. All he might do is stand in the way of the other two, leaving the nomination to Trump unless Cruz can stop him.

His best guess is supporters of Christie and Fiorina will likely drift to one of the GOP governors – Ohio’s John Kasich, or former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush.

“No decision has been made”, spokeswoman Sam Smith said in an email to Reuters.

But there are nuances to each.

According to exit polling data, Trump ran strongest among Republican voters who were anxious about immigration, the fate of the economy, and the threat of a terrorist attack in the US. Ted Cruz (R-Texas). Trump then jokingly “reprimanded” the person for saying it.

“Based on personality, Chris Christie is a natural fit for Donald Trump”, said Mark Meckler, president of the conservative Citizens for Self-Governance in California.

But everything remains in play in New Hampshire due to a high number of registered independents, who can choose to vote in either party, and the famous last-minute nature of voters here.

Rubio is stepping up his attacks after being widely mocked for repeating the same talking point multiple times – even as Gov. Chris Christie of New Jersey (R) ripped him for doing so.

“No one has the record of leadership Gov. Bush has and I think that’s what people are going to look at”, she said. In the first 18-hours after polls closed, Sanders received $5.2 million – 25 percent of what the Vermont Senator raised in the month of January, when he out-raised Clinton last month by about $6 million.

On the Democratic side, Sanders’ impressive victory demonstrates both the appeal of his populist message and Clinton’s failure so far to galvanize many younger voters, a fact she acknowledged in her concession speech.

Meckler, Tea Party Patriots co-founder and former spokesman, doesn’t entirely agree. The state’s Democratic primary is a week later. In those polls, Trump leads the state with 36 percent support, while Cruz has 19.7 perecnt.

In a state where Christie had invested the bulk of his resources, his lackluster finish in New Hampshire was effectively the nail in the coffin for his presidential aspirations, Mashable reports. Bush in particular will need a solid showing in SC, given his prominent political family’s ties to the state, while Kasich is just hoping to remain viable until the race heads to friendly territory for the Midwestern governor.
