Republican president candidates Chris Christie and Jeb Bush are holding dueling fundraisers at the same time in the same New Jersey town.

While Trump has only just recently taken to attacking Christie, the governor Wednesday gingerly sought to frame McQuaid’s comments not as a slur against Trump but to fertilize his own budding candidacy.

After Fulop went off on Trump over the situation, Trump and Fulop actually appear to be on the same page on this one, as the business tycoon said Christie’s initial reaction to the matter was “very weak” and now all of a sudden feels “a little bit emboldened”.

“I think what Joe meant by that in the editorial is that experience matters”, said Christie, cushioning the slight.

The ad, titled “Is he worthy?”, features Mr. Trump at a rally defending his claim that Muslims cheered in Jersey City after the September 11, 2001, attacks. In response, Trump said the governor of the Garden State “really needs to be careful about what he says”.

Donald Trump may have been trying to fire up a crowd of supporters, but mocking a New York Times reporter’s disability was out of line and is now being criticized by fellow GOP candidates. “But we need to be able to get something done”. But Kovaleski has since said he never heard about “thousands or even hundreds” of people celebrating and that he doesn’t recall the allegations of isolated celebrations ever being confirmed.
