Chris Christie suspends presidential campaign
Jeb Bush has drawn large crowds during his appearances in SC on Wednesday and Thursday after experiencing something of a comeback with a fourth-place finish in New Hampshire.

Our presidential politics have come into much greater clarity after the Iowa caucuses and post New Hampshire primaries. “I will repeal Obamacare…I will be a 10th amendment President”. “I apologize, but I believe what I believe”. Looking at the various cross tabulations, it is easy to see why Trump has such a strong lead at this point in the race.
Indeed, Clinton’s performance put her on the low, losing side of a landslide, for the margin Sanders built against a once-inevitable candidate was roughly the size of the 1972 Richard Nixon defeat of Sen.
It was an artful response, courageous – and high-energy. With more than 90 percent of the vote counted in New Hampshire, Sanders had 60 percent to Clinton’s 38 percent. Kasich also is getting barbs from Bush’s chief S.C. surrogate, U.S. Sen. At the very least, he lives to be awkward another day.
The Florida senator went on to jab Trump, as well.
Really, I love Chris Christie. But he’s the likely target of other candidates, as Marco Rubio was in New Hampshire, and certainly of the media. Cruz in the lead-up to New Hampshire uncorked a new line of attack on Rubio, one of several candidates who recently agreed that women should be eligible for a military draft. That leaves – could it be? Bush has improved, in debates and on the stump.
Hardeman predicted that wallets would open if Cruz has a strong showing in SC and rivals leave the race.
Graham pointed to President Barack Obama’s inexperience before taking office, warning that it can be unsafe, especially when it comes to foreign policy. “He’s a gifted politician…. And in an exaggerated disabled person’s voice, the man who wants to be your president shouted: “‘Aaahh, I don’t know what I said.
His comments marked a shift in rhetoric as Rubio tries to retool his once-ascendant campaign days after his fifth-place finish in the New Hampshire primary; it also highlights the layered battle in SC, as candidates in a still crowded field feel out their best strategies for surviving here and advancing into a grueling March primary schedule, when 58 percent of the party’s delegate total will be at stake.
“Whatever it is, we’re prepared for it”, he said.
There hasn’t been a contested national convention since 1976, yet Republican National Committee officials have already had preliminary discussions about the possibility of no candidate securing a majority of delegates in the state-by-state primary contests. John McCain’s (R-Ariz.) 2008 presidential campaign, said Rubio needs a miracle. “How many more of the things are we going to buy?” he asked. But Bush has gained something as important: He seems comfortable in his own skin.
On Friday, Trump took to Twitter to vent at Cruz: “If @tedcruz doesn’t clean up his act, stop cheating, & doing negative ads, I have standing to sue him for not being a natural born citizen”. Bush spoke Wednesday morning of Trump “preying on people’s fears” and “basically saying that life’s bad” and “tearing people down”.
“No matter what the ultimate outcome of the nominating process, Senator Sanders has importantly voiced the frustration of many Granite Staters who know corporate special interests in Washington are holding our families and small businesses back”, she said in a statement. “I don’t in any way hold that against him”. But it’s reassuring that Bush is gaining traction by trying. Before long Trump will probably have only one or two opponents.

Jordan, though, said Bush has the “solid leadership abilities” Trump lacks.
