Chris Evans says Matt LeBlanc should be Top Gear’s new “captain”

Production delays for the relaunched Top Gear pushed its debut into late May, when it competed with Euro 2016 soccer games for viewers’ attention.

CHRIS Evans has reflected on his time on flopped Top Gear, claiming it “wasn’t meant to be”.

But while Evans must now consider himself silly to have accepted the deal, BBC managers are at serious fault for ever offering it.

An internal BBC inquiry found Mr Tymon was subjected to an “unprovoked physical and verbal attack” by Clarkson, who swore at the producer and called him a “lazy” “Irish” expletive.

Evans’ decision to leave the show, which followed a series of high-profile political resignations in Britain after its vote to leave the European Union, attracted a little humor on social media.

Based on his hit Youtube series, BBC AMERICA’s CHRIS HARRIS ON CARS offers Top Gear fans more time with breakout star and motoring journalist Chris Harris as he takes audiences on a ride across seven episodes throughout July and August.

According to the job description, seen by the newspaper, the new employee must be able to “manage their own emotions in the face of pressure”. Evans only brought in one script writer when he took over.

Evans stepped aside from his role hosting the popular motoring show last week.

While set to host “Top Gear” Season 24, LeBlanc will also star in the new CBS comedy series “Man With a Plan”.

Evans said working on the programme for a year had been a “dream” and “the Top Gear ship has been steadily refloated” following the departure of former presenting team Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond.

Finally, TG will adjust its air date. Pulling things back into the spring could help recover from last season’s disappointing ratings. “They over-resourced the technology side, and under-resourced the parts that add finesse”.
