Chris Moyles hosts comeback Radio X show: Dismisses ‘male-focused’ agenda and
Right, this is a bit weird isn’t it. Welcome to a brand new radio station.

“Everybody is welcome to this radio station”.
He went on to say ‘I’ve been sitting on my bum watching Judge Rinder…
“There’s been a lot of press about Radio X and a lot of confused press, people going down a route which they needn’t have to go down”, he said.
He said: “I don’t care if you’re male, female, gay, straight, white, black”.
Returning to radio after a three-year break, Chris Moyles used his first breakfast show on Radio X to defend the station and decry allegations of sexism after the XFM replacement positioned itself as the “first truly male-focused” station. The most recent numbers release, however, concluded that things were on the up for him. Parodying The Verve’s music video for his or her well-known hit Bitter Sweet Symphony, it is no more Mr Good Guy as Chris sulks is means down the street on his approach to the studio. “That’s right, the money finally ran out”. “Everybody calm down”.
Ashley Tabor of Radio X’s parent company Global said in a press release: “Radio X will focus on fresh rock and guitar-based music alongside huge personalities”.
Other presenters on the new station include Vernon Kay, who will host a mid-morning show, Johnny Vaughan, who will preside over weekday drivetime, and Kaiser Chiefs’ Ricky Wilson, who will host at weekends. And personalities don’t get any bigger than Chris Moyles.
Clearly the jury’s still out on this one, but whether you think Moyles is the undefeated king of morning radio, or a meanie with a stare like a haunted pail, there’s no denying that his inaugural show was an undoubted success given it quite literally broke the internet, with many listeners complaining that apps and streaming links to the website had stopped working due to the strain.
Radio X rebrand for Xfm: A welcome shake-up or an elephants’ graveyard for dadrock DJs?
There was one Mancunian voice on the show this morning at least, with a guest appearance from former Oasis frontman Noel.
