Chris Pine Confirms Wonder Woman Casting

Earlier this year, it was rumored that Chris Pine (Star Trek, Into The Woods) would co-star alongside Gal Gadot in the upcoming superhero flick Wonder Woman, but the deal was never actually announced. I’m super excited, of course. With a woman in the lead role. “I am part of a team with this intelligent, handsome and strong woman to destroy the wicked and save humanity”.

With that being said, it is nearly safe to say that Pine will be playing a good guy in the film.

One more actor has officially signed on for “Wonder Woman”. However, he stopped short of saying who he would be playing in the film. A few examples of these gods include Hercules and Hermes (the messenger god). “What excites me the most is to be in a film with a woman super hero”.

Regardless, I’m certainly enthused to see how Wonder Woman comes together, and nabbing Pine as the co-star and shooting on film is a promising start.

What’s interesting is that Patty Jenkins is primed to shoot on film – joining fellow DC property Suicide Squad in the category – and it could be that WB is taking strides to ensure that the majority of DC Expanded Universe omits digital and stays true to film. Judging by how those all fared visually on the big-screen, it’s refreshing and exciting news to learn that a blockbuster picture like Wonder Woman is following suit. While it is common for filmmakers to change the look of a character, it seems that Wonder Woman’s new look has gotten the same backlash as Superman’s new outfit in “Man of Steel” and “Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice”.

Directed by Patty Jenkins, “Wonder Woman” is scheduled for a USA release on June 23, 2017.
