He has been ruled out of the Capital One Cup tie with Carlisle but hopes to feature against former club Aston Villa on Saturday, reports the Liverpool Echo.

Even a combination of the £50m spent on Christian Benteke and Roberto Firmino over the summer has not helped their cause, as only Newcastle (three) have scored fewer goals than Liverpool (four) in the Premier League this season.
“He’s worked his socks off every day here”.
“Danny scored there (Old Trafford) last season and he has been a real bright spark since he came in”, said Rodgers.
Christian Benteke took a confidence boost from his wonder strike against Manchester United but has no doubt he and his team-mates must up their game.
‘When you work with young players, it is always encouraging to see that they are learning and Danny is certainly open to advice.
Statistically calculated by WhoScored.com, one facet of Benteke’s is laying the ball off for team-mates, with the onus clearly on bringing those in support into play, most notably Philippe Coutinho.
The Scot added: “The medical guys are aware of Daniel’s situation”. We will look after him.
“I think the wide striker is the way forward for Liverpool“. Jordan’s come through fine.
Liverpool have not won for five games and that has left both a sense of restlessness among the supporters and an increased scrutiny on the position of Brendan Rodgers.
“Players need to get the fans going by playing attractive football and scoring goals”, said McAllister.

The Duke of Cambridge, Prince William, was apparently not best pleased at the move – as reported by the Western Daily News.
