Christian Ponder is going to work out for the Broncos

The team is expected to work out former Minnesota Vikings starter Christian Ponder on Wednesday the team said. Osweiler threw for 250 yards and two touchdowns. “So whatever happens after this Thursday is what’s going to matter to our season, and this is when we need to start playing well”, he said.

One promising trend: Denver defensive coordinator Wade Phillips is in his first season with the team, and Brady has demolished Phillips’ defenses in four consecutive victories since 2007. The problem is LeGarrette Blount has averaged just 3.5 yards a carry in the last two games and that’s the same number the Broncos’ run defense has allowed all year. “I’ll kind of give them that “talk to him about that” as we get to the end of the week”.

Tom Brady is too busy concerning himself with what he calls “the best defense in the NFL” to spend much time thinking about missing another matchup with Peyton Manning.

Brock Osweiler’s first National Football League start went about as well as one could hope.

The Broncos will use Osweiler’s audition, which is likely to extend another week, to determine his value as a pending free agent. The Broncos are averaging 117.2 rushing yards over their last five games, higher than their season average of 94.4. “Peyton and I had a good visit today, and we’ve got a plan in place for his recovery”, he said about Manning’s visit to the doctor. I had the same injury years ago and it is a killer; I played adult flag football and my passes looked about as bad as Manning’s did against the Chiefs. Sambrailo’s arm is in a brace as a result of the surgery, which will keep him sidelined until OTAs next spring.

Osweiler won against the Bears in his first start for the Broncos and his performance earned him player of the week honors in the AFC.

Jones is averaging almost a sack per game (10.5 sacks this year) and presents a stiff challenge for Harris and occasional fill-in Tyler Polumbus. Including Ware, there were 12 different Broncos that had their hand in a sack before facing Chicago, but now that number has climbed to 13 after Derek Wolfe’s 1st quarter take down on Jay Cutler. The Broncos have terrific team speed and tackling ability, a strong front that gets going downhill in a hurry, three cornerbacks who compete hard, and a safety and a linebacker who are constantly around the ball in T.J. Ward and Danny Trevathan, respectively. On Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski, Talib said: “That size, that speed, and that quarterback, he don’t even really have to be open, and Tom will make him open”.
