He had the power of choice and was all-powerful so that He could have stopped it all. He died to set us free.

Hundreds of people are expected to visit Vasquez Rocks Natural Area Park in Agua Dulce this weekend to see a popular Easter sunrise service depicting the life of Jesus Christ.

Depends on how you look at it. If you are Christian, you believe that Good Friday recalls the day your sins were forgiven.

A matinee performance is scheduled at 2 p.m. Saturday, and the sunrise service is scheduled at 5 a.m. Sunday.

“Two others, who were criminals, were led away to be put to death with him”. One of the great fathers of the early Church, St Ignatius of Antioch, made this startling statement, “For my drink I crave that blood of His which is love imperishable”. He foretold His death on the cross. But they were wrong – because on the third day His tomb was empty! This was the prophecy which anxious the religious leaders. “Greetings”, he said. They came to him, clasped his feet and worshiped him. For us, this is good news.

Remembering the Lord Jesus solemnly entering Jerusalem to suffer and die for all humanity, holding palm in the hands, singing blessed is the name of the Lord Hossana, Hossana. “Order your lives in love, upon the model of that love which Christ showed us when he gave himself up on our behalf”. But how would we know it was true? So, the last lesson he taught us was to wash off the evil from our soul and dedicate ourself to the service of God.

Graham has spoken on the importance of Easter before, writing in April 2015 that it is important to remember the real reason Christians celebrate Easter: Jesus’ resurrection. Why do they call the commemoration of Christ’s death Good Friday? Even as we come to face our own deaths, we need not fear for Christ has gone before us. So then, what is the good news? Christ is Risen! As He is risen so also shall we be raised from the dead.

Indeed, what this commands us to do is to believe in God, and accept Him as God and Savior.

Jump ahead to the last three years of his life and we have stories and books beyond counting. Near the end, after the crucifixion, each student approached the front of the church and tossed a nail into a basket, signifying the forgiveness of their sins by God. “And we indeed justly, for we are receive the due reward of our deeds; but this man has done nothing wrong.'” And he said to him, “Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise”.
