Christie attacks Clinton in RNC speech

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, a former federal prosecutor, laid out an aggressive case against Clinton, asking the crowd to weigh in on her leadership on the Islamic State group, China, and an al-Qaida-linked group in Nigeria.

Failed Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson went so far as to associate Clinton with Lucifer. Instead of extolling the virtues of their nominee, Republicans have turned to increasingly crass slurs against his opponent.

New Hampshire state Rep. Al Baldasaro appears frequently with Trump and serves as an adviser on veteran’s issues. She lied about Benghazi.

Assembly Speaker Robin Vos said he thought the convention had been well orchestrated so far and that “taking the first two days to remind Americans about the total abject failure of Hillary Clinton and her failures is probably a good thing to unify the party”.

“She doesn’t fight for us”, he said.

Christie was referring to pranks committed during the presidential transition from Bill Clinton to George W. Bush in 2001.

But there is still a deep split in the Republican Party and it is unclear how much Trump winning the nomination will help heal the rifts. The GOP’s strategy for winning in November rests in part on the hope that voters dislike the Democrat more than the Republican.

A Marquette University Law School poll released earlier this month showed that 53 percent of women favored Clinton compared with 29 percent for Trump. Slightly more, 63 percent overall, viewed Trump unfavorably; 62 percent of independents.

Still, the criticism has triggered a backlash from some Republicans who say it’s beyond the pale.

Trump was nominated for president Tuesday night, making the former reality TV star the GOP standard-bearer after a rollicking primary season that saw him vanquish 16 rivals.

Bill Pickle, a talk radio host and SC delegate, expressed frustration at what he called “name calling and childish behavior” among some of the speakers. “What happened to professionalism, manners and humanity in our politicians and citizens?”

But many attending the Republican convention shrugged off his comments. Wisconsin delegate Jim Geldreich said the stay-on-offense strategy was spot-on.

“And then she would sit with me while I did my homework or practiced the piano or worked on my science project”, she said.

Chelsea Clinton jumped into the political fray today, defending her mother from GOP attacks in a fundraising email to Democrats.

In March, Trump said at a CNN-hosted debate that the USA has “no choice” but to defeat ISIS and said he was “hearing” that as many as 30,000 troops might be necessary to achieve that goal.

So it only seemed a matter of time before Chelsea was enlisted to answer back.

Republican women said gender is not reason enough to vote for Clinton.

The focus of the night was supposed to be on the economy, but it was Clinton who was in the spotlight.

Trump’s campaign chairman Paul Manafort accused the Clinton campaign of jumping on the controversy to attack Melania Trump because she was a threat to the former secretary of state’s presidential candidacy.

Clinton has not been charged with a crime, no less convicted of one. “Locker her up! Lock her up!”. “And I think to underestimate how that impacts the way you make decisions, the rapidity of your decisions, and the nature of them, is to give less of an understanding than there really needs to be to that triangle”.

Donald Trump delegate Al Baldasaro has made a strong statement about Hillary Clinton
