Christie cites Trump’s Superstorm Sandy aid, but none listed
Behind closed doors, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie explained to Republican donors that the Trump campaign was drafting a list of federal government employees to sack in the event that the GOP nominee is elected, Reuters’ Emily Flitter reported.

With the help of Donald Trump, the New Jersey Republican State Committee has paid its legal fees connected to the George Washington Bridge lane-closing scandal. He said, ‘Mary Pat, I like Chris, but I’m scared of you.’ He said, ‘How much does the check need to be?
While in OH on Monday, Christie told a Republican delegation from MI that his wife, Mary Pat Christie, asked Trump to donate to the Hurricane Sandy New Jersey Relief Fund that she was running following the devastating late October storm. Before taking the convention stage, Christie told a closed-door donor meeting that Trump is drawing up plans to purge government officials hired or appointed by Obama. This would allow officials to keep their jobs in a new, possibly Republican, administration, Christie said.
The Donald J. Trump Foundation has supplied the Drumthwacket Foundation with more than $40,000 since 2010, the Post found. But though Trump controls the Donald J. Trump Foundation, he hasn’t put any of his own money in the foundation since 2008, according to the Post.
Trump’s foundation did donate $20,000 between 2012 and 2013 to the Drumthwacket Foundation, a separate entity run by Mary Pat Christie dedicated to New Jersey’s governor’s mansion.
Spokespeople for Trump and Christie and an adviser for Christie who served on the board of the fund didn’t immediately return requests for comment. But Trump isn’t listed. The Post said it has found just one donation from Trump to a charity between 2008 and this past May: Less than $10,000 to a NY chapter of the Police Athletic League in 2009.

Superstorm Sandy became a defining moment of Christie’s time in office, for both his response to helping residents deal with the devastation and his embrace of President Barack Obama, who came to tour the damage about a week before he won re-election over Mitt Romney.
