Christie: I never promised not to endorse Trump

He’s convinced a lot of people, and now’s the time where we have to address it. I believe a first-rate con artist is on the verge of taking over the party of (Abraham) Lincoln and (Ronald) Reagan, and, now or never, we need to remind people of what’s at stake here. But New York congressman Peter King excoriated him over how he responded to receiving the endorsement of former Ku Klux Klan Grand Wizard David Duke. So I ask you: “go out there and let your friends know that tomorrow’s an important day”.

Trump is now the frontrunner for the Republican nomination, with Rubio and Texas Sen.

Tennessee Democrats will proportionally award 44 delegates.

Christie said the choice came down to selecting the candidate who can beat Hillary Clinton, the leading Democratic contender. But, he reaffirmed Sunday, he would support him as the GOP presidential nominee anyway. Pundits agree the Rubio campaign will struggle to carry on if he loses in his own state.

For Ohio governor John Kasich, Super Tuesday is only about weathering the storm until the MI primary on March 8 where he expects to win.

At another point, he was interrupted by 20 or more protesters chanting “Black lives matter” and other slogans.

Almost 600 Republican delegates are up for grabs Tuesday, nearly half the 1,237 needed to secure the nomination.

A CNN/ORC poll issued Monday shows how far Trump’s opponents have to climb.

On the Republican side, Donald Trump garnered fully 49 percent of Republican support, with Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz trailing him at 16 percent and 15 percent, respectively.

The Texas poll was conducted February 18-23 of 537 likely Republican voters, with a margin of error of plus-minus 4.2 percentage points and 381 likely Democratic voters, with a margin of error of plus-minus 5.0 percentage points.

Trump was asked Friday by journalists how he felt about Duke’s support.

The findings suggest Rubio’s decision at last week’s debate to start matching Trump insult for insult has yet to bloody the front-runner.

“Donald Trump in all likelihood will have a big chunk of delegates”. Trump is widely viewed as the candidate in the field who would be most effective at solving the country’s problems, 51 per cent vs. 17 per cent for Cruz, 13 per cent for Rubio and 10 per cent for Carson.

Hillary Clinton could also make a decisive step towards winning her party’s nomination. This is Trump’s best showing yet in a CNN national poll, and his support now is greater than that of the next three competitors combined.

Republican 2012 flagbearer Mitt Romney joined the chorus of outrage, tweeting that Trump’s “coddling of repugnant bigotry is not in the character of America”.

Cruz, who at one time had something of a gentleman’s agreement with Trump, where both seemed to avoid criticizing each other, now is doggedly accusing the mogul of a variety of things. “Think about that. For president?”
