Christie: My wife did not roll her eyes at Donald Trump

The governor was asked to respond to Mary Pat Christie being the newest member of New Jersey’s first family to grab national attention for a facial expression while standing behind Trump during a campaign event. “With 10 states now left to go, we need fewer people in place than we had been doing when there were 50 states to go”.

“She does not have the strength and stamina” to be the president of the United States and successfully handle countries like China, Japan and Mexico, he said.

Tuesday’s wins for Trump, who received 55 percent to 60 percent of the votes in some states, decreased the odds for a contested convention this summer in Cleveland, a scenario his rivals had banked on to stop him from securing the Republican nomination.

Projecting confidence, Trump said it was time for Cruz and Kasich to get out of the race so the party can unify behind him.

“Not because she’s a woman, but Carly did not resonate at all with people”, Trump said on ABC’s Good Morning America, referring to Fiorina’s less-than-successful presidential campaign earlier this year. “And the lovely thing is, women don’t like her”, he told supporters.

However, according to the same poll, 70 percent of women have an unfavorable view of Trump (as do 58 percent of men), for a net favorability rating of negative-47. Now with 987 delegates in his kitty, Trump now needs just 250 delegates to win the party’s presidential nomination.
