Christie ‘relieved’ Trump picked a governor
Trump said. “We’re going to do territories”. And while saying Obama has done too little to address violence in his hometown of Chicago, Christie never mentioned widespread concerns across the country over police violence against African Americans.

Trump wasn’t his first choice for president, the governor added, “but we decided it was simply unacceptable for us to sit on the sidelines”.
Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, right, and Gov. Mike Pence, R-Ind., shake hands during a campaign event to announce Pence as the vice presidential running mate on, Saturday, July 16, 2016, in NY.
After Trump proclaimed that the United States should not have invaded Iraq because it had no involvement in 9/11, interviewer Lesley Stahl reminded him that his running mate, then Indiana Republican Congressman Mike Pence, voted to authorize the war.
That’s not to say there was an easier choice Trump could have made.
I was surprised by his demeanor, his deep understanding of foreign policy – while I don’t agree with it – and I do think that he has some very specific differences between Donald Trump, but it will balance out the ticket more especially given that Donald Trump will have to move towards the center, especially on trade issues.
STAHL: But what about-he did.
STAHL: But she’s not? Howard Stern asked Donald Trump in 2002.
I recommend you watch the video so you can appreciate both Stahl’s exasperated incredulity and Pence’s obvious discomfort at having Trump so egregiously mishandle this politically sensitive portion of his record.
Let’s rip this answer all to shreds, shall we?
Well, look, Donald Trump is the man of the show, and we definitely saw that last night in that interview with 60 Minutes.
On the heels of Trump’s announcement of a running mate, suspense is growing about who Clinton will choose in coming days, with ABC News reporting on her top five contenders. “She’s very smart and has a major chance to be our next president”. Put them together, in close quarters, for long periods of time, and things will get interesting.
“It all started with her bad judgment in supporting the war in Iraq in the first place”, Trump said in his anti-Clinton speech in late June. She was a critic of the Bush administration’s mishandling of the war and pushed for an end to the conflict. Pence didn’t get much airtime in their joint interview, and seemed to need a lot of help from the GOP candidate.
Pence has released some financial information in a disclosure required under in state law; he also filed federal forms for the 10 years he served in Congress. But none of those filings provide the level of detail that would be contained in tax returns.

When pointed out that Pence also voted for war in Iraq as did his Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton, Trump said the Indiana Governor is entitled to make mistake once in a while, but the former Secretary of State is not.
