Christie slammed on social media, New Jersey press urges resignation

Chris Christie’s recent endorsement of Donald Trump is nothing but a power play by the head of the Garden State. Former presidential hopeful and current governor of New Jersey Chris Christie introduced Trump, but it wasn’t the introduction that made observers concerned for Christie’s safety. “It was reasonable that he was given a great deal of leeway when he ran for president, because you could argue that New Jersey could benefit if he was elected”. Christie spokesman Kevin Roberts did not reply to an inquiry on when Christie would be back in New Jersey.

Once upon a time New Jersey governor Chris Christie had a little dignity. That’s what Christie said, again and again, during his own presidential bid.

Christie appears to have sold his soul for political gain, and Trump, eager to highlight that he has the endorsement of centrist Republicans, has been parading his new pal before the press. But its not just Christie who needs Trump.

I believe that all along Trump knew Christie would potentially be a valuable asset going into the final primaries and beyond, which is why Trump never went out of his way to insult Christie.

Christie announced his support for Trump as the Republican nominee, even though the two have sparred against each other over the last few months while on separate campaign trails.

When Christie, who dropped out of the race for the Republican nomination on February 10, gave Trump his support, many speculated that Christie was vying for a cabinet position, either Vice President or Attorney General, according to Nate Silver at FiveThirtyEight.

A poll from Fairleigh Dickinson University’s Public Mind shows that there was a considerable shift in opinion of Christie while the poll was being conducted over five days. “Rather than standing up to the bully, Christie bent on his knee”, the New Hampshire-based paper wrote.

To say those aboard the Trump train are a motley crew would be an understatement.

“I’m exhausted of my tax dollars paying for him to spend more days out of NJ than in and to campaign for others, ” wrote Candice Guinan of Brick on the petition.

“Donald Trump is not my choice”, she said. A new poll conducted by Morning Consult reveals the majority of Americans polled would love to see Ben Carson as Trump’s VP pick. “He is a very effective leader when he’s engaged and I fully expect him to be engaged”. Somewhere amidst the absurdity of Trump-mania, we seem to have forgotten what true strength really is.

I was so distracted during Trump’s speech that I nearly missed it entirely. “But I’m not ready to endorse anybody yet”.
