Christie to attend Trump security briefing
Donald Trump will receive a classified intelligence briefing on Wednesday in NY, a federal official confirms.

Both Christie and Flynn are considered leading candidates for roles in a Trump administration should he win the White House.
ABC News reports close Trump allies New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, who previously served as a USA attorney, and retired Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn also are expected to attend the meeting, which is set to occur in the FBI’s NY field office.
It will be led by staffers from the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (DNI) and will include information on threats and emerging concerns from around the globe, ABC said.
Director of National Intelligence James Clapper previously said the general election briefings are “fairly general”. The FBI’s office in New York City has such rooms, according to the report.
During a press conference earlier this month, Obama was asked if he was concerned about Trump receiving these security briefings.
As a USA attorney under the George W. Bush administration, Christie ran the federal prosecutors’ office in New Jersey for several years, and he is now leading Trump’s transition team.
In recent weeks, a chorus of lawmakers and political groups have raised concerns about Trump, the Republican Party presidential nominee, receiving such briefings given his rhetoric about Russian Federation. “I would suggest to the intelligence agencies, if you’re forced to brief this guy, don’t tell him anything, just fake it, because this man is unsafe”, Reid told the Huffington Post.
Last month, Director of National Intelligence James Clapper rejected House Speaker Paul Ryan’s request to block Hillary Clinton’s access to the briefings because of her ongoing email scandal.
These briefings resemble the annual “Worldwide Threat Assessment” issued by the intelligence community, which publicly releases an unclassified version each year.
