Christmas Celebrated In Kerala
Christians thronged the churches right from the morning.

Kerala Governor P Sathasivam, Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, Opposition Leader V S Achuthanandan and leaders of different parties greeted the people on the occasion of Christmas.
In Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh, Christmas celebrations were marked by singing of carols, lighting of candles and attending the Mass at various churches. Social service was also an integral part of the celebrations as church members visited hospitals and old-age homes, and reached out to the underprivileged sections of the society to share the joys of Christmas.
Most hotels, restaurants, malls and commercial plazas were bathed in Christmas decorations of beautifully lit Christmas trees, special Christmas menus and offers, Christmas balls and other activities which will continue till the New Year.
People exchange cakes and delicacies whereas Santa Claus gives gifts to the children on the jovial occasion.
Special midnight holy mass was organised at the St. Joseph’s Cathedral and other major churches.
On Thursday night special services were held at Full Gospel Assembly Church, G-8/1, Saint Thomas Church, G-7, and Khatoon-e-Fatima Church in F-8, where Christian priests prayed for peace, harmony and prosperity of Pakistan. Wishing people of the two Telugu-speaking States, they said Jesus sacrificed his life for the people’s welfare and it was a festival of spreading love.
