You’ll get one more present on Christmas Day.
It will be full at 6:11 a.m. EST on December 25th, according to Fred Espenak with NASA. The December full moon is known as the “cold moon”, which may or may not be true in this unseasonably warm December.
The Earth’s pale satellite will take a nice, long trip across the sky starting Christmas Eve, just a few days after the winter solstice. Yule was eventually assimilated with Christmas, around 300 years after Jesus Christ died and was resurrected.

According to the Weather Channel, the USA will be the best place to view the holiday full moon, while the United Kingdom will see the peak moon on Christmas night. Hopefully by then, we’ll be looking at a white Christmas, too.
