In the run-up to the launch of Windows 10 earlier this year, users noticed that Microsoft’s operating system would be collecting more data on them by default than it had in the past, including information about their location and what they’re typing, and sending it off to Microsoft.

Microsoft hopes to make up the revenue from other sources, such as online advertising tied to its Bing search engine and new Edge browser, which comes with Windows 10. These improvements include colored title bars for desktop icons, a spare Live Tiles column for the Start Menu and enhanced context menus.

Since its release back in September, Microsoft has seen a huge take-up in Windows 10, which is its attempt to create a truly cross-platform software experience.

Right now, the Lumia 950 is available on the Microsoft Store from AT&T with a “coming soon” release date, as well as with a new contract or without a contract. Also, users who are now on Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 will be pushed to Windows 10 Fall Update version of the operating system if they chose to upgrade their gear. Meanwhile, Google Chrome wasted no time becoming the dominant Windows 10 browser, with a market share of about 70 percent. In this regard, Windows 10 should attract more new users, as it needs more market penetration, especially considering the new updates that have numerous features for the professional world. According to multiple reports, Microsoft plans to release the rumoured Threshold 2 (TH2) Update in November. In fact it’s just going to be called the “fall update” referred to with the version number 1511. It’s familiar but you can get all this new value.

It’s not far from happening though considering the high-end specs and features attached to it. The Windows Club detailed that the biggest feature of both the Lumia smartphones is its Window 10 Mobile OS.

Disappointingly, the upgrade planned for Microsoft Edge has been delayed by the company and may not feature until next year. That paints a stark future for apps on Windows Phone, but hopefully, that will change in the next few months, as more developers sign up.
