FCA USA said Tuesday it is voluntarily recalling 75,364 Jeep Cherokees from the 2015 model year for a potential air-conditioning system issue that could lead to a fire hazard.

The problem may contribute to increased wear and overheating sufficient to illuminate the vehicle’s anti-lock brake system warning light, Fiat-Chrysler said.

The company also announced that it’s recalling more than 88,000 Ram pickups mainly in North America because the rear axle shafts could break and cause a wheel to separate. Chrysler discovered air-conditioning lines on a few vehicles may have been installed in close proximity to their engines’ exhaust manifolds; under certain operating conditions, this may pose a fire risk. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration received two customer complaints involving smoke and fire. Customers who observe an ABS warning light, or any other item of concern, should contact their dealers.

The company said in a statement that Scott Kunselman will step down November 30 as senior vice-president of safety and regulatory affairs.

FCA said it was aware of one accident potentially related to the axle shaft problem in Ram trucks, but no injuries.

The company said it is also recalling about 16,647 Ram trucks in Canada, 1,924 in Mexico and 1,715 outside the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) region.

The company said most of the trucks are in dealer hands.
