Chun In-gee threatens record in last major
South Korean Sung Hyun Park, who shared the overnight lead with Chun, juggled three bogeys and six birdies in a round of 68, tying her for second place with Shanshan Feng – China’s only major victor.

Chun was the overnight leader, with Park second and Shanshan Feng – China’s only major victor – two shots further back.
Seeking his first European Tour win, Paisley shot an 8-under 63 to take a one-stroke lead into the third round later in the afternoon. Birdies on the second, seventh and eighth gave her a four-shot lead but a mistake on the ninth allowed Park to cut the lead to two shots.
Fellow South Korean Sung Hyun Park (67) was at 15 under, and Feng Shanshan (69), China’s only major victor, was two shots further back.
South Korean So Yeon Ryu, who has been remarkably consistent with only one bogey in three rounds – on her 10th hole Saturday – is seven shots behind Chun in fourth place.
Chun In-gee of South Korea edged closer to a second major title, and a slice of golfing history, when she extended her lead to four shots at the Evian Championship in France on Saturday. She sliced her second shot into woods, found it, but deemed it unplayable. “I think like just let it go”.
World No.7 In Gee Chun is threatening a post-to-post win after scooting four shots clear.
Her eagle on the 15th was a 35-yard chip from the back of the green that rolled up and across the green with flawless weighting, prompting her to raise her arm triumphantly.
Sunday could be a record-breaking day for Chun, who remains on course for the lowest ever 72-hole score in a major.
“I’ll be getting plenty of good needle, but it’s all in good fun”, said Elliott, the caddie for American player Brooks Koepka for the last three years.
But unruffled, Chun hit back in style with birdie at the 11th and then her hole of the day came at the 15th, where she chipped in from 20 yards for an eagle there.
“It’s a really big honor for me”, Chun said of equaling the feat.
“I’m happy because I try to more enjoy my game because it makes more pressure for me”.
