Chun in sight of golfing history at Evian
Lying on 10 under is another South Korean, So Yeon Ryu, after successive 66s, followed by American Angela Stanford a shot further back.

“I made a couple of bogeys in the start of the back nine, but then I talked to my caddie, I was like, let’s finish strong, and then I made two birdies in the last three, so I’m happy about the score”.
In-Gee Chun shot a near faultless six-under par 65 to extend her lead going into the final round of the Evian Championship.
“It is a really big honor for me, but I just have to stick with my game plan”, said Chun, who is also looking to emulate Pak Se-ri by winning her first two LPGA titles at major championships. “The rough is really long”.
Chun eventually signed for a seven, but she repaired the damage with birdies at 11 and 13 before a sublime chip from the back of the 15th green dropped into the cup for eagle.
The New Zealander lifted her spirits with birdies at seven and nine, but she gave both shots back on the inward half and limped in with a 75 which left her 19 shots behind the leader.
Park is a little known player internationally but has been a dominant force on the Korean LPGA in 2016 with five wins.
But Brittany Lang, the US Women’s Open champion, won’t be collecting a second major this year. It is named after 10-time major victor Annika Sorenstam.
Two-time major victor Brittany Lincicome is a shot behind her in a tie for sixth with South Korean Eun-Hee Ji.
A good day for South Koreans was made even better with I.K. Kim making 64, including eight birdies and a bogey, to rise to fifth.
Rookie Chun In Gee posted a super 66 to edge ahead of the field at the halfway stage of the Evian Championship on Friday (Sept 16), the final major of the season. With the seniors playing alongside boys and girls from the First Tee programs throughout the country, Broadhurst had 6-under 30 on the front nine in his first professional round at Pebble. Over the first two rounds at Evian, her average driving distance is 15 yards longer than Lexi Thompson, one of the LPGA’s longest hitters.
Park finished joint third in the US Women’s Open this year and says she feels quite at home playing alongside the world’s best.
