Church boots 92-year-old woman for not tithing
When Bainbridge, Ga., nonagenarian Josephine King received a letter from her pastor recently, she read it to learn she had been expelled from the church she had been a member of for most of her life. He now hopes to raise awareness for people being kicked out of churches for not tithing.

First African Baptist Church, located in Bainbridge, allegedly booted longtime member Josephine King, WALB reported this week.
‘It’s about God. You have to put God first’.
“Do you remember what Jesus did in the temple to the money hungry tax collectors?” one reviewer wrote.
A Georgia church has been accused of getting rid of a female parishioner because the woman was not paying tithes.
He said his aunt is unable to make tithes and at times can’t attend church service because she is not feeling well.
Church administrators apparently failed to take into account King’s five decades of financial and physical support.
Simmons, who said the reason his aunt was not giving and not physically present at the church was due to health reasons, asserted: “You have to have money to make these churches run, but it’s not about money”. He also shared that during her 50-year membership with the church, she has gone above and beyond to show her support.

WALB said it contacted the church for comment but hasn’t heard back. She aired out her frustrations on Facebook and wrote: “What Church does this… why would I want to go to a church that everybody talks about everybody….”
