Cindy Crawford creating ‘Modeling Wars’ TV series
Sadly, Crawford won’t show up as a character on the series, only working behind the scenes as a producer, alongside Anne Heche and James Tupper. But before anyone starts dream-casting the major models of the era, let it be known that Icon would be a completely fictional take on that troublesome time, and no real companies or models names will be used in the show.

“Icons” is about the modeling wars in the 80’s that occurred between Ford Modeling Agency and Elite Model Management.
Variety reports that Cindy Crawford, former supermodel and current skin-care peddler, is developing a drama that could reveal the ugly side of talent management factions.
Iconic models including Naomi Campbell, Linda Evangelista, Christie Brinkley, Brooke Shields, Elle Macpherson and Christy Turlington rose to fame during the 1980s.

“The Hunger Games” producer Robin Bissell will pen the project, hailing from Universal TV. “I just did a commercial this week with Sophia Vergara – and she’s so amusing”. Though I would love a “re-telling of Crawford’s own experiences”, I’ll settle for thinly-veiled characterizations of even thinner people. NBC wants to head back into that 1980s boom with a project called Icon, and theyre working with Cindy Crawford to turn it into a reality. She presented MTV’s “House of Style” in the Eighties and also appeared in 1995’s “Fair Game“. Will you watch the show?
