The 1984 game at Tampa Stadium was ESPN’s first live regular-season college football night game, which Miami won 32-20 behind quarterback Bernie Kosar.
Florida and Miami announced that they will face each other to kick off the 2019 season in Orlando at the Citrus Bowl.
It was recently confirmed that the rivalry game between Florida and Miami will played at the stadium in 2019.
“With 60 million-plus visitors to the Orlando area each year, we look forward to strengthening our brand and supporting the growing RV and camping community that has allowed us to be successful in this market”, said Lemonis.
“We’re proud to integrate Camping World, a brand that is the leader in its industry, with all that we continue to do at Camping World Stadium to grow economic impact and improve the quality of life for Central Floridians”, said Steve Hogan, CEO of Florida Citrus Sports.
The game will be at the newly renamed Camping World Stadium – which was the Citrus Bowl. “This matchup will be thrown down at the 50-yard line”.
What was once the biggest college football rivalry in the state of Florida will be making a one game return to the gridiron in an upcoming season. At the same time, both schools have continued their yearly series with the Florida State Seminoles (with FSU winning their last six over the ‘Canes and five of the last six meetings over the Gators).
UF and UM will be part of a four-game kickoff series hosted by the Central Florida venue.

Ticket information including pricing and location will be announced at a later date from the Gator Ticket Office. Miami holds a 29-26 all-time advantage in the series, which had its inaugural meeting in 1938.
