City boss Manuel Pellegrini plays down significance of Leicester clash
City have kept three clean sheets in their last four Premier League games, after a run of only one in their previous eight matches.

“Manchester City have too many unsafe players”.
“In football, in my experience, it’s better to show than to speak”, he said. “First and foremost, if we have to play that game on that Sunday, we will not play with our (full-strength) team, we will play with a young team”, Pellegrini told reporters before the decision was made on Friday.
But Pellegrini, who received a rapturous response from City supporters during Tuesday’s victory at Sunderland, looks sure to dominate proceedings on Saturday when he appears before his home crowd for the first time since his departure was confirmed.
For starters, Tottenham would jump to the lead, collecting an impressive 52 points, seven more than they have now, sitting in third place. A team that some predicted would be relegation candidates this season are taking the league by storm and will be tough opponents for City this Saturday.
The 62-year-old has a chance to take a big step towards winning the league crown tonight, when Man City take on Leicester City at the Etihad Stadium.
The critics of Leicester City were dealt another blow this Tuesday as the biggest surprise this season pushed forward with another big win to remain in sole possession of top spot in the Premier League table.
Pellegrini says he will field a team of youngsters if the date of the fixture is fixed by the FA on Sunday, February 21.
“They can do it and they are demonstrating they can do it this season”, he said.
They have bagged 10 points from their last four games, conceding just once, and even their most pessimistic followers are starting to believe that Leicester can become the first club outside the usual cartel to win the English title since Blackburn Rovers in 1995.
The problem in this instance arises because Chelsea’s neighbours Fulham play in the Championship on Saturday, February 20 and police would be unwilling to sanction another kick-off close to that time.
Manchester United was certainly well represented in their 3-0 win over Stoke City -including on the back end where Borthwick-Jackson produced the top fantasy stat line among Premier League defenders.
“If we believe then we can still do it. There are more than enough games to put ourselves back at the top”. I think it’s a serious competition and not a competition you can throw away.
That being said, Barclays Player of the Month, Sergio Agüero, will be raring to go.

Amartey joined Leicester on January 23 but has yet to make the squad, having last played a competitive game for former club FC Copenhagen at the start of December because of the winter break.
