City cabbie burns wife to death inside vehicle
In a shocking incident, a call taxi driver burnt his wife alive inside his auto in Nandanam following a heated argument on Sunday. The couple got into a bitter argument while they were on their way after which Prema poured a bottle of petrol (that was kept in vehicle for emergency) on her inside the auto to threaten her husband. The woman threw her two children out through the window as fire began engulfing her in the back seat of the vehicle. She managed to throw her two children – Thisanth Raj (4) and Yashwanth Raj (2) – through the open window out on the road. Following a quarrel, Prema poured petrol on her body in a fit of rage.

28-year-old Prema was travelling with her husband and two children in the Ola cab on Sunday afternoon.
Prema gave a dying declaration about her husband’s shocking behavior.
She was admitted to Kilpauk Medical College but succumbed to her injuries on Sunday evening. “The children are out of danger and they are admitted in KMC hospital”. Prema’s mother, Amravathi has filed a police complaint against Nagaraj.

Police said that Prema and Nagraj got married five years ago after he first husband abandoned her. Nagaraj set the auto on fire near the First Extension of Lotus Colony opposite Boston School. He then left the vehicle, abandoning Prema and her children. Police said Prema and the children were seated on the car’s back seat when the couple entered into a heated argument. The auto was gutted in the incident.
