City fans are on the average wage, Pep, not your salary

Sergio Aguero makes his mark against Borussia Monchengladbach, tallying three goals in a 4-0 Manchester City victory.

Pep Guardiola was impressed by three of Borussia Monchengladbach’s stars despite their 4-0 defeat to Manchester City in the Champions League on Wednesday.

City reached the semifinals a year ago before losing out to Real Madrid but they struggled in the Champions League in the previous four seasons, failing to get beyond the round of 16.

A five-year deal was signed by Aguero in 2014, but it is suggested that City chiefs were keen to tie him down for a further 12 months to further prove his commitment and fend off any interest from elsewhere.

We like to address the big questions here at Dream Team. But my idea and club’s idea is the same: try to win this competition.

“I am a demanding coach and I want to score goals – that is the most important thing – but I want more, for him to help the team, because he knows the team is going to help him”.

In Pep Guardiola’s first group game in charge, Aguero pounced to prod in an Aleksandar Kolarov cross and added a penalty kick when Ilkay Gundogan was fouled.

“I’m really happy with the new manager”, he told reporters. “We are playing with a different system this year, another way of playing. I think it was quite a good start for me”. We worked really hard on the preseason and we are still doing every day.

“I wanted to convince Sergio that his talent in the box is natural”, Guardiola said.

“I am very happy to be back, back with the guys and to be back on the field”.
