Civil Rights Museum Prepares For MLK Day
Highlighting this year’s celebration is an address by Pastor Cori Bush, an activist and organizer with Ferguson (Ill.) Frontline and an organizer of a new Ferguson/St. Louis chapter of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference.

The Dearborn Area Interfaith Network is hosting a service Sunday afternoon that will focus on the contributions of Martin Luther King Jr. “The public is invited to join us in remembrance of this civil rights hero”.
The celebration begins Tuesday, Jan. 12 at 5:30 p.m. with readings and displays of art by finalists and winners of the annual Martin Luther King (MLK) Community Coalition Art and Essay Contest.
Special celebrations will include performances by local students, including Stax Music Academy. The event was held at the First Presbyterian Church on Main Street. Day March from the county courthouse to the city building by the NAACP. The winners in each category will speak on the topic “Dream with a Vision”.
Registration for the event will take place at BYU’s Wilkinson Center from 8:30-9:15 a.m. Doughnuts and juice will be served.
Inglewood is proud of its march which is created to reenact the civil rights marches of the 1950s and 1960s. “It’s day-long activities, day-long entertainment”.
The coalition, in collaboration with Pasadena Unified School District, has two upcoming events to celebrate the upcoming Martin Luther KingJr.

On Saturday, “A Day On, Not Off” beautification project will start with a breakfast and program at 8a.m.at Hamilton Elementary School, 2089Rose Villa St., Pasadena.
