Meanwhile, on top of receiving better reviews than its rival, “Captain America: Civil War” is already close to surpassing “Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice’s” $865.5 million haul, too.

“Captain America: Civil War” came out as the fifth-biggest box office opening of all time in the United States.

Whether Captain America: Civil War will break the Rs 100 crore mark at the Indian box office or not, it will only be known once the weekend is over. The saga of warring superheroes, Marvel’s latest offering has managed to earn a staggering amount of money in its first three days at the box office. It features behind record holders such as “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” ($248 million), “Jurassic World” with ($208.8 million), “Marvel’s The Avengers” ($207.4 million) and “Avengers: Age of Ultron” ($191.3 million).

The success of its newest Marvel film continues Disney’s hot streak at the Chinese box office.

The film, which cost about $250 million to produce and tens of millions more to market, was estimated to open with domestic weekend sales of $214 million by analysts at BoxOfficePro.com. Here’s how it started.

Another missing element from the film’s many confrontations was a bout between Captain America and none other than Black Widow, which was originally written but cut from the film.

Civil War, directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, opened overseas at the end of April (16) and now boasts a worldwide haul of $678 million (£470 million) after just 12 days on release. Last year, they took in nearly $7 billion.

“Even though on paper it might not look as strong as past year, the summer of 2016 shouldn’t be underestimated”, Dergarabedian said”.

According to a statement from the makers, “Captain America: Civil War” collected Rs.9.81 crore on Sunday with a growth of 10 percent over Saturday.
