Clashes On Kos As Police Disperse Migrants
Over 150 migrants in at least six boats have arrived at the shores of the Greek island of Kos.

A police source in Athens told AFP that the latest incident was because the migrants tried to get into a police post to be get their papers sorted while the officers wanted to process them in the stadium.
The scene was filmed by an Associated Press cameraman, before another policeman put his hand in front of the camera and made him stop filming.
The Greek coast guard pulled more than 1,400 migrants out of the sea between Friday and Monday, authorities announced at the start of the week. Authorities, locals and charity groups are struggling to provide registration, food and shelter to the new arrivals, many of whom are children. Most land on five islands: Lesbos, Chios, Kos, Samos and Leros.
The UN refugee agency’s division for Europe said last week that 124,000 refugees and migrants have landed in Greece since the beginning of the year.
Fights broke out amongst migrants on the Greek island of Kos Tuesday, the place overwhelmed authorities are struggling to include growing numbers of individuals arriving clandestinely on rubber dinghies from the close by Turkish shore. The vast majority continue to mainland Greece and cross the Balkans or sneak aboard Italy-bound ferries in an attempt to reach wealthier European Union countries.

Some 40 Syrians waved and cheered as their boat arrived at the popular tourist destination. “I want to see my family”. “We will try again every day to reach Greece”. Hundreds are camping out in a public park in Athens. It is now building a new center in central Athens where it says migrants will be free to come and go as they please.
