Bookmakers and pundits alike refused to believe Leicester’s magnificent form would continue, and odds remained as high as 1000/1 in November.

The Spanish worldwide has been struggling in recent weeks with the niggling injury and he appeared to aggravate it in the second half of City’s 3-1 defeat to Leicester at the weekend.

Leicester City has won hearts of football lovers.

Leicester are the surprise team of the Premier League this season and their attacking force led by Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez has gotten much of the attention.

“Asked to name his Premier League team of the season so far, Lineker said: “[Christian] Fuchs, for sure.

Mahrez has been touted as many as this season’s player of the year, while Vardy is leading the goalscoring charts.

Vardy seems a little bit more content with his 75 rating in the Federation Internationale de Football Association 16 winter update, but should still have room for grievance considering how he compares to other Premier League players. We are not in our best moment, we just have 14 players fit and we have played a lot of games.

“I have watched it very closely, they have done it because they have good players”, said Lineker.

“[Arsenal are] up there, we’re up there, City are, Tottenham, Manchester United might be 10 points adrift but the way this season’s going those 10 points can be picked up quickly”. “We’ll just take every game as it comes, knuckle down and hopefully keep picking points up”.

Arsene Wenger’s men head into the game knowing that a win would move them to within two points of the leaders heading into the final 12 games of the season.

“But we don’t think about the title, just about the next game”.

“‘I only wish the best for Leicester in the future”.

“It was important to bounce back from the results we have had of late”.

“We are happy with yesterday’s demonstration and we are pleased with the number of supporters who took part”, Jay McKenna said.

Ranieri, the former Chelsea, Juventus and Roma boss, also praised goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel, who has been ever-present in the Leicester defence.
