Forgive me if I don’t join the nation – I mean bandwagon – in congratulating Leicester City on their Premier League title success.

The Foxes could have clinched the title themselves on Sunday with a win against Manchester United.

“I’m so proud. The players have been fantastic”, he said, as quoted by the Daily Mirror.

But it was achieved without the midweek demands of European soccer, which Leicester will have next season after qualifying for the Champions League for the first time.

He told talkSPORT: “They’ve got very wealthy owners there, I’m sure they’ll strengthen and they’ll make sure that people there are looked after and they’ll keep the players”.

Speaking as Leicester celebrated their triumph, Scudamore said the achievement was the greatest story in football and sporting history, and would change the way the other Premier League clubs approach the game in future.

Mourinho guided Chelsea to the Premier League title last season, before a disastrous start to the current campaign led to him departing Stamford Bridge. I am very, very happy now because maybe if I won this title at the beginning of my career maybe I would forget. Tottenham Hotspur’s draw at Chelsea ensured that Claudio Ranieri’s side claimed the title, but rumours abound regarding interest from Arsenal in a number of their key players.

“Now, this season is out of our project but of course the foundations are very, very solid”. It was only Leicester City’s second season back in the Premier League after spending a decade in the second and third tiers of English football.

“The temperament and mentality of the team was incredible”.

The Leicester squad congregated at top scorer Jamie Vardy’s house to watch Chelsea’s second-half comeback and predictably wild celebrations greeted the final whistle.
