Claudio Ranieri in awe of Liverpool after Leicester thrashed at Anfield
Liverpool play their first home game of the season this evening as they host Leicester City in the Premier League, with both sides looking for a second win of the season. It is important to recharge the batteries, look at how Liverpool won and we start our way.

The midfielder, making his first appearance of the season and in an unfamiliar centre-back role due to Dejan Lovren’s eye injury, received a short goal-kick but panicked under pressure from Shinji Okazaki, lost control and stabbed the ball back across the six-yard box where Vardy could barely believe his luck.
But Liverpool took control after the break and added two more goals through Adam Lallana and Firmino again, leaving Ranieri to concede his team failed to match their opponents.
“We have to clear our minds for the next match”.
“The new players couldn’t really compare (to the old stand)”.
Jurgen Klopp [on Liverpool’s new main stand]: Everybody’s spoken about it over the last 20 to 30 years, changing something, but it’s not too easy because of the surroundings.
“Immediately when the Kop started singing “Juergen Klopp”, (Leicester) were alone in front of (Liverpool keeper) Simon Mignolet”. Maybe last season some players didn’t want to come, or didn’t choose Leicester, now they can choose Leicester.
“I have no idea what happens when because it is who plays how, who performs when, our results”. It is nice but not necessary.
“I have no idea how somebody could do something like this, but when you stand in front of it, it’s really wonderful”. Mane made it 2-0 in the 31st minute with a stupendous chip over the keeper following a wonderful backheeled pass from Sturridge, who had run onto a brilliant ball clipped over the defence by Jordan Henderson.
I’m still not really sure what to expect of Liverpool under Klopp.
Despite being second best for much of the half, Leicester nearly went in level as Robert Huth’s looping header bounced off the crossbar and over.
Leicester City’s club record signing Islam Slimani is ready to make his Premier League debut in Saturday’s clash with Liverpool, manager Claudio Ranieri said on Thursday. “We were waiting for this kind of football because it was their first match at home, new stand. It’ll be hard for us but also for them”.

Liverpool dazzled offensively as they beat Arsenal 4-3 in their season opener, and while they have lacked consistency under Juergen Klopp, they reaffirmed their class going forward in a vibrant display that exposed the champions’ limitations.
