Claudio Ranieri may be flying high when Leicester crowned champions

Leicester City let slip an opportunity to clench the Premier League title after playing out a tense 1-1 draw with Manchester United this afternoon.

Second-placed Tottenham, who are eight points behind Leicester, must beat Chelsea away on Monday to keep the title race alive.

Christian Fuchs of Leicester City holds off Antonio Valencia of Manchester United during the Barclays Premier League match between Manchester United and Leicester City at Old Trafford on May 1, 2016 in Manchester, England.

“I’d like to watch the game but I am on a flight back from Italy”, Ranieri said.

Leicester fell behind to Anthony Martial’s opener but captain Wes Morgan equalised after 17 minutes before Danny Drinkwater was sent off in the dying stages for two yellow cards.

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has reiterated his belief that he will still be at the club next season, in comments published by several British newspapers on Sunday.

“I don’t think we can ignore this one”.

United has three games left and City two, and United’s quest for a top-four spot was helped after City fell to a 4-2 away loss to Southampton, thanks to a Sadio Mane hat-trick.

Swansea’s win moves them up to 13th in the table having opened up an unassailable 11-point gap between them and 18 place Sunderland.

Asked if the Leicester squad would be assembling to watch the game, Ranieri replied: “I don’t know”. We suffered a lot because they pressed so high and without [Jamie] Vardy it was hard to stretch the line.

“I felt I had the better of my marker and any ball that came in I thought I could get a touch”.

Dennis Mistry, 46, paid tribute to the manager Claudio Ranieri for guiding the Foxes to within grasping distance of a league title.

Leicester players had barely got out of their own half by the time they conceded. Let us know by dropping a comment below via our Facebook comment box.

There’s still work to be done in these final three matches, but we must not forget that the expectation at the beginning of the season was to do just this. “The first 25 minutes was fantastic to see, but then Leicester came more in the match”.

The Dutchman then went a little further when discussing that contentious hairpull in a television interview with the BBC last night. I think the reaction of Fellaini is like a human being.
