Claudio Ranieri: more chance of ET landing than Leicester retaining title

Sunderland just did enough last season to stay up but this time around they will be without their manager, “Big Sam”, and that will take a lot out of this side since he was the soul of the club.

Leicester City manager, Claudio Ranieri signed a new four-year contract with the Premier League champions on Wednesday, tying him to the club until summer 2020.

Ranieri was hired a year ago when Leicester was 5,000-1 to win the league, and avoiding relegation seemed the priority.

Appointed in July, 2015, the 64-year-old Italian helped the club defy pre-season odds to win the league, the first top-flight title in Leicester’s 132-year history.

In a bid to prove that last season’s incredible Premier League title triumph was not a one-off, Leicester smashed their transfer record to sign the talented Nigerian Ahmed Musa.

Ranieri says: “From the moment I talked to the owners about their vision for Leicester City, I knew it was something I wanted to be part of for a long time”.

“The energy that exists at this club – from the owners and the staff, to the players and supporters – is something very special. I am very happy and proud that I will be part of it for years to come”, he added.

“Of course they (Leicester’s title rivals) are stronger because they can’t make a mistake another year”. We must be smarter.

“Could I know who is interested in Mahrez?” Pep as the new manager is also an upgrade meaning things are looking good if you are a Manchester City fan.

The League will officially kick off on 13 of August and the very first game will be played between the Champions Leicester City and the newly promoted side Hull City, followed by the game between Tottenham Hotspur and Everton, the same day.

“They lost one season and in the life of those big teams that can happen but, altogether, it only happens once in lifetime”. That being said, they are going to be away from home and outclassed in this game so I think anything but a loss will be a massive surprise.

With Kante moving on, Ranieri has turned to Mendy and Wales worldwide Andy King to fill the void.

Retaining the services of England striker Jamie Vardy, who scored 24 league goals before rejecting the chance to join Arsenal in the close-season, ensures Leicester will retain their spiky edge.
