Clayton Kershaw could start on Friday for Dodgers
“It was my first time actually seeing them in the stadium since I signed in 2013 and now I know what they go through when they see me on the TV when they’re in Puerto Rico”.

The call that Jose De Leon has been waiting for all season finally came. “He kept his composure”.
Here are the top-three reasons Kershaw must be healthy for the Dodgers to have any hopes of being the team to topple the Cubs. “I didn’t notice any difference from down there to here”. In his pregame tradition, De Leon, etched the nickname of his grandpa in the dirt on the mound before throwing his first pitch.
“We’re still ironing some stuff out”, Kershaw said after the game, according to MLB.com. I threw a couple good ones, but a few of them got away from me.
Luis Perdomo (7-8) allowed five runs and nine hits in six innings, struck out five and walked none. The right-hander struck out the side in the sixth.
“I’ll never get hurt again”, the Dodgers left-hander and three-time National League Cy Young Award victor said on Sunday.
Perdomo had given up just one earned run in 16 innings in his two previous starts.
Puig hit his first homer since being recalled Friday from Triple-A Oklahoma City in the bottom of the third inning, when he propelled LHP Christian Friedrich’s 88 miles per hour fastball into the Dodgers’ bullpen down the left-field line for a three-run drive, his eighth homer of the season.
Kershaw’s return should provide a significant boost for an injury-ravaged rotation that has relied heavily on several rookies this summer but, barring setbacks, could line up Kershaw, Rich Hill, who has thrown six shutout innings in his two Dodgers starts, and Kenta Maeda for a playoff series.
Chase Utley shot a grounder through the right side for a run-scoring single that tied the score, 4-4, and advanced Puig to third. Grandal made it 5-4 on an RBI single. Jankowski scored on Yangervis Solarte’s sacrifice fly to put San Diego ahead 4-3.
Hill remains unbeaten in his last 10 starts since May 7 with a career-best eight-game winning streak, going 8-0 in that span. His curveball is one of the most effective pitches in the game. Kazuhisa Ishii in April 2002 against Colorado and Pedro Astacio in July 1992 against Philadelphia had 10 each. Before being promoted, he hadn’t allowed a run in 17 2/3 innings and had 10 or more strikeouts in his last three starts.
The San Diego Padres released veteran shortstop Alexei Ramirez.
Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw is scheduled to pitch Friday at Miami after spending more than two months on the disabled list with a herniated disk. He won’t have a specific pitch count, but will be monitored.
Anderson followed Kershaw in Saturday’s game, but was again bothered by a blister and was to meet Sunday with the team’s medical staff. He tossed three innings for the Single-A Rancho Cucamonga Quakes in his first rehab start following a back injury.

Kershaw was 11-2 with a 1.79 ERA before getting injured in late June.
