Clear and Cooler Weather This Week into Next

In the Omaha area today, look for sunny skies and breezy conditions with a high near temperature 85 and south winds gusting to near 30 miles per hour.

Wednesday: Partly sunny with a 20% chance for morning rain showers than a slight chance for showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. Temperatures could reach highs in the upper 70s to low 80s. Tuesday night it will be clear with a low around 60, but with patchy fog expected after 2 a.m. Temperatures are expected to be in the mid- to high-90s for the rest of this week.

Wednesday will be sunny, with a high near 91 and a light and variable wind from the southwest at five to 10 miles per hour. High in the lower 80s. Temperature steady or slowly falling in the afternoon. Skies, meanwhile, are forecast to be mostly sunny, and the high should be near 90. Some cloud cover will try to push in for the second half of the day, but most of the shower and thunderstorm activity should stay confined to the higher elevations. There will be a chance for a few showers or storms late in the day or evening. By Wednesday, highs will be in the upper 60s north and the upper 70s south.

Sunday night: Clear, with a low around 61.

Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 94.

Thursday night and Friday.Partly cloudy. High near 85. Southeast wind 6 to 9 miles per hour.

Tuesday night, the 50 percent chance of rain and storms continues, the weather service said. South, southwest wind 15 to 18 miles per hour with gusts as high as 25 miles per hour.
