Clemson in way of Alabama’s unprecedented run

I suppose I can tell you we should admire the way that Nick Saban has subsumed great swaths of college football in his wake, and I suppose I can say we should recognize the enormity of this accomplishment in a world where distractions abound, particularly among the generation that now plays the games. In some ways this has the feel of Clemson’s 22-15 win over Nebraska in the 1981 national championship game. I’m hoping that Dabo Swinney’s unsightly dancing is a metaphor for the energy the Tigers plan to bring on Monday night; I’m hoping that Swinney’s quarterback, Deshaun Watson, will play with the kind of unpredictable panache that he’s exhibited in every other game this season.

Clemson has one national championship to its credit.

So far the, most expensive ticket sold on StubHub for Clemson-Alabama was $4,685 and the least expensive was $119. I am seriously bored with Clemson head coach Dabo Sweeney constantly bleating on about how no-one believes in his team.

Players to watch: Heisman Trophy victor Derrick Henry leads Alabama’s rugged offense. Alabama is just too good of a team to not be efficient on both sides of the ball.

“I think sellers still haven’t figured out how to price the championship in this new playoff era”, Papp said. Alabama has won last 12 meetings with Tigers, the last game between the two a 34-10 win to start the 2008 season…. They’re ledeshaun Watson. I can’t wait. “I owe them our best as coaches and people who can support them to give them the best opportunity to be successful in the next challenge that they have”. He also racked up over 1,000 yards on the ground and 12 scores via the run.

Dual-threat quarterbacks give most defenses trouble and Alabama is no exception.

At the Orange Bowl Clemson has 312 rushing yards.

Henry had 20 carries for 75 yards. Clemson doesn’t have a fantastic red zone touchdown percentage (60 percent, 70th), but its offense is much better on third down (47.7 percent, 13th). Artavis Scott is the latest standout in a long line of talented Clemson receivers; the sophomore speedster leads the team with 89 receptions for 868 yards. That depth could be tested because All-America defensive end Shaq Lawson sprained his knee against Oklahoma and missed most of the Orange Bowl.

Alabama and QB Jake Coker know that Clemson’s defense, even if it plays without one of the nation’s top pass-rushers, is stout with Bryant in the lineup. And how effective will he be?
