Clemson Wins Orange Bowl, Tops Oklahoma 37-17
In a college football top tier comprising 128 teams and about 1,280 flaws, Clemson (14-0) and Alabama (13-1) have spent at least the last two months seeming the least flawed, week by week, until they wound up pretty compellingly close to flawless. National Championship Tickets are now available through our preferred vendor TicketMonster.com (seating chart below). Fans from both teams traveled to watch the college football playoff.

Alabama will be back in the national championship game for the first time since 2012 after blanking Michigan State 38-0 in the Cotton Bowl.
Clemson advanced to the title game with an impressive 37-17 win over Oklahoma on Thursday in the Capital One Orange Bowl.
Alabama will play Clemson in the national championship game January 11 in Arizona. ESPN will televise the game nationally at 8:30pm ET.
It didn’t take long for Saban to get asked about Clemson.
Since that point, Clemson has done a lot of winning, going 22-1, and Dabo has done a lot of dancing. But the Tide rode quarterback Jake Coker, who passed for 286 yards and two touchdowns, to 38 points in the final three periods and a lopsided victory.
Then there’s Clemson pilot Deshaun Watson, the only quarterback invited to NY for a Heisman Trophy show so interminable that it might not have ended just yet, and the third-place finisher in that balloting.
Quarterback Deshaun Watson went over 100 yards in the first half and running back Wayne Gallman would quickly join him eclipsing the century mark in the second.
There’s another story line to the title game.
The Tigers have won 10 games or more each of the last five years.
“Going 15-0, it would mean we’re the best ever”, linebacker Travis Blanks said.
They will have to continue to take chances against an Alabama team that will not beat itself-they will have to remain loose off the field, nimble with their play calling and bold with their game plan. A win against Clemson would give Alabama its fourth national title since the 2009 season; a Clemson title would be its first since 1981. Tonight coming in, I said, ‘Hey, tonight we make that dream a reality.
The FBS conference commissioners who put together the College Football Playoff several years ago said they wanted to create a new tradition by playing the semifinals on New Year’s Eve twice every three years over the course of a 12-year contract with ESPN.
Clemson (14-0) showed the sort of balance it will need to cope with Alabama’s stifling defense, rushing for 312 yards and passing for 218.
The semifinals rotate through six bowl games – the Sugar, Rose, Cotton, Orange, Fiesta and Peach.
Jones added a high-stepping 57-yard punt return touchdown for the Tide, which hardly even had to use the 242-pound Henry. “There’s just a chemistry and an attitude of those guys that they won’t be denied, and they really represent our offense and our whole program”. Gallman ran 26 times for 156 yards and two touchdowns, shaking and running over would-be tacklers to help Clemson sustain drives.

“It started with Clemson”, said Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops, who rightfully called the Tigers “excellent”.
