Cleveland Browns Add Hue Jackson As Latest Head Coach
Sure, the Cincinnati Bengals- the team for which Jackson was the offensive coordinator- had just suffered another heart-breaking defeat in the NFL Playoffs, but Jackson’s desire to become a head coach outweighed any heartbreak he felt from the night prior.

After only a one-year stint in Oakland as head coach in 2011, in which the team went 8-8 for the Raiders’ best finish since 2002, Jackson is looking to prove he can be a successful head coach in this league.
The Browns announced Wednesday that Hue Jackson is the team’s new coach, finalizing the deal before the 29-year coaching veteran with 15 years of National Football League experience could interview with the Giants for their vacant head coach position.
After his first interview with the Browns, multiple media sources were reporting that Cleveland was poised and ready to make a “strong push” to sign Jackson as their coach. This is a good hire for the Browns organization as they not only get a good coach but someone familiar with the AFC North.
Cleveland owns the No. 2 overall pick in this year’s draft and will likely use it on a quarterback – possibly California’s Jared Goff or Memphis’ Paxton Lynch.
The post New Browns coach Hue Jackson accepts giant challenge, confident he can turn around losing franchise appeared first on Chronicle-Telegram.
Having hired the guy portrayed in MoneyBall, Paul DePodesta despite no track record of his system working with football in the slightest, the Browns have made Jackson’s job harder. “I have to give everyone on this team an opportunity to prove who they are”, said Jackson, per Grove. “That’s it at the end of the day”, Jackson said, when asked what kept him away from the plane.
Jackson had been with the Bengals since 2012.
Maybe Jackson’s best coaching job was with McCarron, as the former Alabama quarterback played in the final four games of the season with three straight starts. The following year, he was promoted to head coach and suffered an 8-8 record.
Jackson also mentioned that off-the-field integrity, accountability, passion and work ethic were among the most important attributes he looks for in his players.
“I wasn’t here to be a part of that, so obviously I can’t speak to any of those [incidents]”, Jackson said.
The Browns are hiring Bengals offensive coordinator Hue Jackson as their next coach, CBS Sports Jason La Canfora reported. “There’s a lot of people to support and help and get you what you need as a coach, as a leader, to have an opportunity to have success”. What I’m most excited about, when I think of Jimmy and Dee and the commitment to me and the commitment we have for this building for our players and what we’re trying to accomplish, there is non other.

If the Browns want to ditch Manziel but don’t think they’ll get anything in return, they could cut him. Jackson loves to work with quarterbacks and the offense. “Eventually everybody’s going to be doing what we’re doing”.
