Manziel finished 10 of 18 for 118 yards, but started 9 of 11, led the Browns on a 96-yard touchdown drive and flashed some of that old Johnny Football magic by scrambling to his left, throwing against his body and completing a 37-yard pass. McCown, on the other hand, was 7-of-10 with two interceptions in a poor showing.

After two preseason games, it’s become apparent that the answer to their major questions at quarterback might not yet be solved. We’re looking to make some progress between now and next week. I openly wondered if Manziel was even the best backup candidate for the Browns among Connor Shaw, Thaddeus Lewis – and even Terrelle Pryor. Of course, we have to take what we see with a grain of salt.

We saw Manziel change plays at the line, and legitimately command a huddle last night. We get very individualized in the preseason.
