Clif Bar & Company issues voluntary recall of three flavors
Clif Bar issued a voluntary recall for three flavors of the company’s energy bars.

Consumers are being warned not to consume the recalled products listed below.
It includes 6.1-ounce boxes of Quaker quinoa granola bars in the chocolate nut medley and yogurt, fruit and nut flavors with best by dates before November 15.
The kernels might be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, according to the FDA. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency is conducting further food safety investigations to determine if there are other products related to these that have cause for Listeria concerns.
So far, no illnesses have been reported, the company has reported. Quaker says its recalls are being issued “out of an abundance of caution”. Clif Bar is asking anyone who purchased the products to throw them away.
The CFIA is verifying that industry is removing recalled product from the marketplace.
On its website, the company says its ingredient supplier, SunOpta, was found to have distributed sunflower kernels that may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.

The CDC estimates there are 1,600 illnesses and 260 USA deaths per year due to listeriosis infections.
