Clinical George Groves Eases To Victory Against One Dimensional Chris Eubank Jr
George Groves has confirmed that he DID dislocate his shoulder in the final round of his fight against Chris Eubank Jnr and is set to see a specialist to determine just how much damage has been caused. The 168-pound finals is now scheduled to take place at London’s O2 Arena on June 2.

After the second defeat of his 28-fight career, Eubank Jr said Groves – who now has 28 wins from his 31 bouts – punched him harder than anyone he has faced as a professional. George with one arm still countered the onslaught from Eubank but it was too little too late for the son of one on Britains boxing greats.
“I’m very, very happy with the performance”.
He didn’t bring pressure because I was hurting him. It was about who wanted it most I think. So, I feel like no one in the world is more qualified to comment on having the proper attributes to be a boxing superstar. “What now? We go on and we get stronger and we get better and we never stop”.
Groves then showed his strength by flipping Eubank Jr nearly through the ropes in the sixth, the ugly, inside exchanges were not concerning him, even in the gripping eighth round when they both landed trademark shots.
Eubank spent the 11th round chasing Groves, desperately attempting to land the type of punishing punch he needed to change a fight he clearly was losing.
“I thought it was close”, he stated. Eubank did his best to gather momentum after the 8th round, but even when he looked to be getting on top Groves superior strength tied the challenger up and left him with few ideas.
Eubank, who was cut above the right eye from a clash of heads, thought he did enough in the championship rounds to win the bout and advance in the WBSS.
Despite Groves having five previous world title fights to Eubank’s one, it was the challenger who started as the favorite with United Kingdom bookmakers. I wasn’t as sharp as I wanted to be”, Garcia said in the post-fight interview “He’s a good inside fighter and he was giving me some good inside cuts.
“Eubank Jr is a brilliant fighter – but this isn’t called fighting, it’s boxing”.
Eubank’s father Chris Sr, who was world middleweight and super-middleweight champion in the 1990s, admitted Groves deserved the decision. Eubank would have his first meaningful success with a short left hook despite his efforts to close the gap which resulted in smothering his own work. It saw him press Groves onto the ropes, ducking down and shunting forward. He [Groves] boxed beautifully I can’t take anything away from him there.

It did not come but the roars inside the arena were deafening as Eubank threw all he had at his rival at the death, only to catch a stiff right hand himself.
